Virtual Design & Construction
VDC
Originally developed for TDOT, Wilson & Associates pioneered a comprehensive constructability review process rooted in over 200 years of combined construction experience. This approach examines every phase of a project—from both the contractor’s and engineer’s perspective—to uncover innovative solutions to complex challenges before construction begins.
Visual Design Construction (VDC) is a powerful visualization and project management tool used during the preconstruction phase to simulate the entire construction process from start to finish. The goal? To identify potential complications early—reducing errors, minimizing delays, and cutting unnecessary costs.
VDC modeling goes beyond traditional data or machine control models. It creates a robust, graphical representation that highlights potential conflicts with other design elements and evaluates overall constructability. While it’s not intended to overhaul the design, it gives project owners and stakeholders a critical opportunity to analyze and improve how the design will perform in the real world.
With Wilson & Associates, VDC isn’t just a model—it’s a smarter way to build with confidence.
