Route Surveying
With more than 40 DOT and non-DOT route survey projects under our belt, Wilson & Associates has earned a reputation as a leader in route surveying, geospatial data collection, and advanced survey support for transportation engineers and contractors.
Our expertise in advanced surveying techniques allows us to streamline project timelines while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance.
As one of the first firms in Tennessee to adopt OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for route surveys, we’ve played a key role in supporting TDOT’s transition to the new platform. Our team has worked closely with engineering firms and embedded directly within the TDOT Region III field office—converting legacy data into ORD, providing technical training, and ensuring a smooth rollout across teams.
We maintain rigorous quality control through documented standard operating procedures and proven workflows. By leveraging tools like static post-processed GPS networks, Trimble Business Center, Level-Me, and TopoDot, we deliver high-quality, final ORD products that support efficient roadway design and infrastructure planning.
Our capabilities also include property resolution and verification. We conduct detailed research of deeds, plats, right-of-way (ROW) plans, and physical monumentation to accurately establish property boundaries along transportation corridors.
In addition, our team has deep experience in bridge and stream surveys—including both single and multibeam bathymetric surveys—delivering the critical data needed for structural analysis and hydraulic modeling.
